Frequently asked questions
How does it work for tenants?
Register and tell us where you want to live. We match you with landlords who have housing in your area. You can also apply directly to listings. It costs you nothing.
How does it work for landlords?
Publish your listing for free. We promote it and give you access to people looking in your area. Review candidates' profiles and documents, then chat with the ones you want to reach. Chat is free and unlimited.
What does it cost?
Listing and reviewing candidates is completely free. Chat with every candidate is free and unlimited. If you want to reach more tenants, you can upgrade to a premium listing. Your property will then appear at the top of search results and be sent as an alert to everyone searching in your area.
How are tenants verified?
Everyone is verified with BankID or an approved ID document. Tenants can also collect references from previous landlords and upload documents like credit reports, criminal records, and income proof.
How quickly can I get started?
Create an account in a couple of minutes with BankID. Tenants can start building their profile right away, and landlords can have a listing published immediately.
What is the difference between Bofrid and Qasa?
The difference is the business model. Qasa is a managed rental service: listing is free for you as a landlord, but the tenant pays a 5.95% service fee on top of the rent every month (Qasa in Sweden), and the contract and rent payments run through Qasa. That fee pays for a rent guarantee and payment handling, but it also makes your home more expensive to rent. Bofrid is a marketplace: no service fee and no commission on the rent, for you or your tenant. The rent you set is the rent the tenant pays. In return, you write the rental contract and receive the rent yourself. Fees are each service's Swedish pricing, August 2026.
What is the difference between Bofrid and Samtrygg?
Samtrygg is a managed sublet service. It is free for you as a landlord, but the tenant pays 15% on top of the rent once the contract is signed (Samtrygg in Sweden), and Samtrygg handles the contract, the rent payments and a rent guarantee. Bofrid is a marketplace: free listing, unlimited chat with every candidate, and no service fee on the rent for either party. That means your home costs the tenant less and you reach more applicants, but also that you handle the contract and the rent directly with your tenant. Fees are each service's Swedish pricing, August 2026.
Does Bofrid take a service fee or commission on the rent?
No. Bofrid takes no service fee, no commission and no share of the rent, not from you as a landlord and not from your tenant. Publishing a listing, reviewing candidates and chatting with every candidate is free and unlimited, with no subscription and no commitment. The only paid option is a voluntary premium listing for wider reach. Managed services work differently: in Sweden, on Qasa the tenant pays 5.95% on top of the rent, and on Samtrygg 15%. Fees are each service's Swedish pricing, August 2026.
